AusHealth partners in one of ‘the largest public health vaccination’ programs in Queensland
AusHealth was proud to partner alongside Metro South Health to provide COVID-19 vaccination nurses to Logan, Queensland.
Logan achieves 92% double dose against COVID-19
According to Metro South Health, AusHealth, together with the Logan City Council, delivered 171,511 COVID-19 vaccinations, making the Logan Entertainment Centre (LEC) ‘the fourth largest vaccination centre in the state’.
‘The Logan region has a high percentage of culturally and linguistically diverse, First Nations and vulnerable people’, Metro South North said.
‘The opening of LEC helped us reach many of these people and we achieved 92 per cent two-dose coverage in Logan.
‘Special mention and our appreciation to all the AusHealth agency staff for playing such an integral role in working with the Metro South Health COVID Vaccination Program and helping the centre run so smoothly even on the busiest days.
‘The team always provided us with assistance no matter how great or small and usually with limited notice, especially on press conference days with The Premier, Chief Health Officer and Health Minister and including other multiple VIP visits.’
Vaccination achieved despite Queensland flooding
Metro South Health was pleased that the COVID-19 vaccination program was able to go ahead, despite severe weather events, such as tornadoes, floods and subsequent building collapses.
‘[The AusHealth staff] went above and beyond to ensure the continuity of service of the centre,’ Metro South Health said. ‘[…] we appreciate the significant contribution AusHealth has made in delivering this vital public health response.’
AusHealth Queensland office increases due to demand
In the last six months, AusHealth’s Queensland office has grown exponentially due to demand in the area.
The office has seen new additions, such as AusHealth Hospitals‘ Geoff Grimshaw as State Account Manager and Alyssa Lees as Learning and Development Specialist.
